About me
My name is Michiel Cramwinckel. Since 1995, I have been helping companies and inventors protect their innovative ideas with strong patents. As a Dutch and European patent attorney, I combine in-depth technical knowledge with legal precision.
My background is Chemical Engineering, graduated at the TU Delft, worked for many years in industry (DSM, Shell) and at an international patent office. In 2013, I started for myself - because I believe that good patent advice should be personal, clear and creative.
Why I am called 'Patent Doctor'
Like a doctor, I help you make the right diagnosis:
Is your idea patentable? Are there any risks? How do you avoid problems? Is your patent portfolio healthy? Is the patent portfolio of a company you want to invest in healthy?
Whether you want to protect something new, suspect infringement by others, or just clean up less relevant patents – I look at it with a sharp, independent eye and always seek a clear solution. Sometimes that is a patent application, sometimes just good advice to save costs.

They perform administration such as filing patent applications, securing procedures and paying annual fees on time.
Patent portfolios are managed for several clients in cooperation with Van Buren in Europe, Australia, USA, China, Korea, Canada and Brazil, among others.
